Long Beach, California-based JVC jointly developed the hearing aids with health specialists Intricon and hearing aid company Tuned. They designed the AI-powered JVC EH-Z1500 Bluetooth-enabled hearing aids for a hassle-free self-fitting experience. The devices remove the need for an in-person visit.
JVC’s hearing aids feature clinical-grade hearing technology and an in-app hearing check for personalized tuning. They also offer live support from hearing professionals via the Tuned mobile app.
The company says its newly approved app-powered solution combines audiology and psychology. It aims to enhance user engagement, motivation and education. According to a news release, the companies aim to optimize the efficacy of the user’s hearing aid experience while minimizing product-related issues and service costs.
Tuned’s app guides users through the entire device setup and includes a patented AI hearing assistant. Developed by a team of audiologists, the hearing assistant offers 24/7 access to top-level knowledge and services. Using the Bluetooth-connected app, users complete an in-app hearing evaluation. Then, the app automatically tailors the hearing aids to each user’s specific needs.
The app supports customers through the entire acclimatization process with AI. It offers a series of daily goals and lessons, including tips and instructional videos. Users can also adjust hearing aid volume, programs and settings through the app, JVC says. In some cases, this proves more convenient than using controls located on the devices themselves.
Additionally, Tuned offers integrated remote support from hearing professionals. Users wear the hearing aids behind the ears. JVC said it designed them as a lightweight and discreet option for a comfortable and unobtrusive fit. The company offers the devices for $999.95.
