Former U.S. Senator for New Hampshire John E. Sununu joined Boston Scientific Corp.‘s board of directors.
The Natick-based medical device colossus said March 2 that Sununu was elected to the board to replace Joel Fleishman, who will resign his seat in May.
Sununu will pull down about $60,000 in retainer fees and an annual grant worth of roughly $120,000 worth of stock from the company, according to the standard board compensation plan filed in its most recent proxy statement.
Had he won his Senate re-election bid in the 2006 elections, Sununu would have received a salary of about $174,000, according to the U.S. Senate website.
Fleishman, who joined Boston Scientific’s board in 1992, holds about $160,000 worth of common stock in the company, which is now valued at about $1 million based on its March 2 closing price.
