Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) subsidiary DePuy Synthes Trauma today debuted its Conform Flex biologic implant for extremities repair in the U.S.
Conform Flex is a pre-hydrated demineralized cancellous bone tissue matrix uses DePuy’s Q-Pack technology, an ambient temperature packing technology designed to allow the matrix to ship fully hydrated, the company said. It’s indicated for trauma-related extremity procedures in the foot, ankle, hand and wrist, including fusion, and for filling bone voids, DePuy said.
“What I appreciated about Conform Flex was the ease of use and its ability to conform easily in the joints that I had prepared for fusion,” Dr. Stephen Carley of the Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Va., said in prepared remarks. “I was especially impressed by the way it maintained its position and integrity during positioning and compression of the fusion sites with internal fixation.”
DePuy said the product is processed by the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation.
