Johnson & Johnson‘s (NYSE:JNJ) DePuy Synthes subsidiary yesterday said it acquired Olive Medical and its high-definition arthroscopy visualization system for an undisclosed amount.
Salt Lake City-based Olive Medical’s platform is designed to provide hi-def images for surgeons during arthroscopy procedures, according to a press release.
The acquisition will tuck in to DePuy Synthes’ Mitek sports medicine business, giving it entry into the arthroscopic visualization market for shoulder, knee, hip, and small joint pain or injury procedures, according to the release.
" The newly combined portfolio and capabilities of the 2 companies will enable DePuy Synthes companies to continue development of cost-effective, advanced visualization solutions to meet the evolving needs of customers and patients," the company said in a statement.
Olive Medical was founded in 2009 and employs 20 workers, according to the release. Its products are sold in 20 counties, DePuy Synthes said.
