
Insulet (NSDQ:PODD) said it named Dr. Howard Zisser, the former clinical director of the Sansum Diabetes Research Institute, as its 1st medical director.
Considered a leader in diabetes research, Zisser will be involved with a variety of clinical research projects and serve as a medical liaison between Insulet and government leaders, the FDA, and healthcare organizations, Bedford, Mass.-based Insulet said.
Optos taps interim CFO for permanent position
British retinal imaging company Optos plc (LON:OPTS) tapped Rob Kennedy to be its permanent CFO after 4 months of service in an interim role. Prior to this position, Kennedy was the group director of finance and company secretary for Optos. Kennedy replaces Luisa Burdett, who left the company in July.

Massachusetts scientific instrument maker Harvard Bioscience (NSDQ:HBIO) hired Robert Gagnon as its new CFO and executive vice president of finance. The former Clean Harbors Inc. CFO and treasurer is one of several personnel changes the company has recently made. Gagnon takes over for Thomas McNaughton, who will become the CFO of Harvard Bioscience’s new subsidiary, Harvard Apparatus Regenerative Technology.

Exactech (NSDQ:EXAC) named Bill Shopoff as its new vice president of U.S. sales for large joints. Shopoff is a 30-year veteran of orthopedic sales, most recently serving as president of Smith & Nephew‘s (FTSE:SN, NYSE:SNN) trauma and extremities franchise. Shopoff is replacing Bob Purcell, who will be retiring after working more than 40 years in healthcare.
