Worcester, MA, June 10, 2013: In a case of new traditions The Venture Forum (TVF) of Central Massachusetts will open its 2013 Business Plan Contest (BPC) application process July 1.
The Worcester based Not-For-Profit organization recently grew out of two decades of operation as the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Venture Forum. Its mission is to deliver information, education and networking to advocate Technology and Life Sciences entrepreneurial activity in the Central Massachusetts and Metro West areas.
The TVF is supported by a broad blend of Academic, Corporate, Professional Services and Investor partners and sponsors serving Tech and Life Sciences who are based in the region.
The TVF Business Plan Contest is an opportunity for entrepreneurs in the region to get their startup plans critiqued and polished through a fun and rigorous competition. In addition to high level networking, the winners score an award package of cash and in-kind services that has reached over $10,000 in prior years.
The BPC First Round will take place Saturday morning, October 5 at WPI in Worcester. In this initial phase contestants will expose their business concepts and current plans to a group of judges chosen from the most experienced and talented venture funding experts, business academics and professional services firms available.
A group of Finalists are selected and offered guidance from mentors to prepare them to present their cases to a final judging panel and live audience at the contest’s premier event, November 12 at WPI. That event will culminate in winner and award announcements with an anticipated attendance in excess of 150.
