MASSDEVICE ON CALL — Patients with drug-resistant hypertension may have a new alternative for reducing their blood pressure, according to a study of Abbott’s (NYSE:ABT) RX Herculink Elite device.
Researchers treated more than 200 patients with Herculink, implanting the stent in the renal artery to help keep the vessel open and lower blood pressure.
Patients with the highest blood pressure before the implant saw the most dramatic improvements, according to a press release.
