HydroCision Inc. posted a strong second quarter, with sales increasing 43 percent compared to the same period last year.
The Billerica-based surgical waterjet maker is privately owned, so it is not bound to release audited quarterly earnings numbers to the federal Securities and Exchange Commission. The company did not release specific sales numbers to corroborate the percentage increases.
HydroCision said (PDF) sales increased 21 percent on a quarter-by-quarter basis, which officials said indicated “accelerated momentum in the spinal business,” due mostly to cost savings the company’s products provided hospitals.
HydroCision announced an outpatient treatment for herniated discs in June.
