HeartWare names new CFO amid push for market penetration
HeartWare International (NSDQ:HTWR) named Peter McAree its new chief financial officer, senior vice president and treasurer, effective immediately.
McAree is expected to play "an integral role" in the company’s efforts to expand commercialization of its flagship product, the HeartWare HVAD circulatory pump, which has CE Mark approval in the European Union and is currently undergoing U.S. clinical trials as a bridge to transplant and a destination therapy.
McAree was most recently SVP and CFO of Caliper Life Sciences, which PerkinElmer Inc.(NYSE:PKI) acquired in November 2011.
McAree will take over responsibilities managed in the interim by HeartWare finance VP Lauren Farrell, who will continue in her role.

Vycor CEO Coviello resigns, Denness takes his place
Vycor Medical (OTC:VYCO) appointed Richard Denness its new CEO, fully effective August 3, concurrent with the departure of current CEO Kenneth Coviello who resigned from the corner office "for strictly personal reasons."
Coviello will also step down from the company’s board of directors on or before August 3.
