Hanger’s big move this year was to change re-brand the company, trimming the company name from Hanger Orthopedic to Hanger, Inc. The company owns and operates orthotic and prosthetic patient-care centers in 45 states in the U.S. It also distributes branded and private-label O&P devices and components in the 45 states., manufadctured by third parties, and makes devices for patients with a loss of mobility via its Innovative Neurotronics Inc. subsidiary. Another subsidiary, Linkia LLC, develops programs to manage O&P patient care for private payors. Hanger operates in two segments: Patient care services (operated by subsidiary Hanger Clinic) and distribution (operated by subsidiary Southern Prosthetic Supply). In 2012, the company acquired OrPro, Orthotic & Prosthetic Technologies, Innovative Prosthetic Care, Nordlie Enterprises Inc., Faith Prosthetic-Orthotic Services, SCOPe Orthotics & Prosthetics. The company owns several patented products including a prosthetic liner, prosthetic pump and limb scanner.
