- Halamka steps down from his life as a health care CIO
John Halamka announced his retirement as part-time chief information officer at Harvard Medical School, citing concerns that a half-time technology leader can’t handle the increasing demand on IT departments in order to meet the needs of health care reform. "I think it best that I pass the baton at HMS to a new IT leader," Halamka wrote in his blog "Life as a Healthcare CIO," which is frequently featured on MassDevice.
- Mela Sciences VP resigns
Mela Sciences (NSDQ:MELA) VP of commercialization Tina Cheng-Avery resigned, effective immediately. She’ll continue to assist the Irvington, N.Y.-based company as a consultant through the end of the year pursuant to a consulting agreement, according to SEC filings.
