Group purchasing organization Premier signed a pair of 3-year contract agreements with surgical device maker Teleflex (NYSE:TFX) for its product portfolio of endotracheal tubes.
Products included in the GPO agreements, are Teleflex’s Rusch and Sheridan endotracheal tubes brands, including Teleflex ISIS HVT, the 1st convertible endotracheal tube, according to the company’s website.
Teleflex will offer exclusive member rates to Premier’s alliance of 2,700 hospitals beginning Jan. 1, 2013.
“Teleflex is proud to expand upon the extensive product lines already offered through Premier that give healthcare organizations a substantial advantage,” president of anesthesia & respiratory division Cary Vance said in prepared remarks. “The enduring partnership with the Premier healthcare alliance allows Teleflex to continue providing exceptional products that are designed to meet the needs of patients and help increase provider safety.”
Limerick, Pa.-based medical device maker Teleflex recently landed FDA clearance for its Weck reusable obturators, devices used to provide surgical instruments access during minimally invasive procedures.
Earlier last month, the FDA also approved Teleflex’s Rusch EZ-Blocker disposable endobronchial blocker, which enables safer lung isolation.
Premier recently announced new agreements of respiratory therapy products with 6 companies, including another deal with Teleflex. Other contract winners include CareFusion (NYSE:CFN), Thayer and Westmed, according to a press release.
