GHX landed a contract with Premier healthcare alliance to partner on its a "Collaboration Portal," a software system that allows distributors and trading partners to sync up on contract pricing and avoid errors.
The portal will allow the GPO to access contracts with affiliated manufacturers, distributors and providers. GHX touts the system as a cost-saving measure that will increase transparency in the healthcare market, potentially eliminating the estimated $62 million in extraneous healthcare costs that result from pricing errors.
"Ultimately, this will further reduce costs not only for providers, but also suppliers and distributors leveraging our contract portfolio," said Premier supply chain services president Durral Gilbert in prepared remarks. "This expanded relationship with GHX is a win-win for everyone involved in the supply chain."
