Four healthcare systems teamed up to create a collaborative group under Premier Healthcare Alliance, citing $5.4 million in savings.
The Adventist Collaborative Group represents $1.5 billion in supply spend and includes 140 hospitals in member groups in Florida, California, Maryland and Ohio.
The member hospitals of the collaborative group will have access to Premier’s data and technologies. The Aventist Collaborative Group teamed up to identify additional savings. It has saved $5.4 million since forming the initiative 2 years ago, according to a statement from Premier.
"The Adventist Collaborative Group efforts and our work with Premier have contributed to a reduction in our supply costs," Terry Shaw, Adventist Health System COO/CFO and Premier board member, said in prepared remarks. “However, we know there is room for more savings. Having access to Premier data and technologies will help us explore all boundaries of contracting to drive additional significant value to the group.”
