Augmedix raises $3.2M for Google Glass for docs

Augmedix calls itself the "first and largest Google Glass startup poised to revolutionize healthcare," touting a $3.2 million venture funding round and a move to a larger headquarters in San Francisco.
Now at 36 employees, the 2-year-old company is working on a flagship product that would free physicians from the “flood of data and documentation” they face on a regular basis. Catheter maker Bi02 Medical raises $6M

Bi02 Medical, maker of the Angel vena cava filter catheter, said it raised nearly $5.9 million in a hoped-for $7.5 million equity offering.
The funding round for the San Antonio, Texas-based medical device company involved 10 unnamed investors, according to a regulatory filing. Read more
OnTarget Labs lands $15M for tumor fluorescing tech

OnTarget Laboratories said it landed a $15 million investment from a pair of backers for its tumor-lighting technology developed at Purdue University by the founder of Endocyte.
The OnTarget technology uses small molecules and fluorescent dyes to target and illuminate specific cancerous cells, according to the West Lafayette, Ind.-based company’s website. It was developed by Philip Low, the Ralph Corley Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and director of the Center for Drug Discovery at Purdue University. Read more
Oculeve raises $16.6M in support of dry eye disease treatment

San Francisco startup Oculeve Inc. closed a $16.6 million funding round in supports of its implantable technology for treatment of dry eye disease.
The money was raised through sales of equity to 8 unnamed investors, according to an SEC filing. Around this same time last year Oculeve had reported $7.6 million raised from 9 investors and in October 2012 the company reportedly raised $7.6 million from 8 investors. The company has reportedly raised around $33.2 million since 2011. Read more
Zimmer, Draeger and Altitude tally $234M in Pentagon supply deals

A trio of medical device makers collected Pentagon supply deals worth a collective $234.3 million, according to recent Defense Dept. reports.
Medtech titan Zimmer landed a contract worth $65.6 million, the maximum possible extension under the company’s multi-year contract. The new deal represents the 3rd of 5 possible year-long extensions. Zimmer will provide various military and civilian agencies with orthopedic hip, knee, spine, and extremity trauma implant procedural packages, according to the DoD memo. Read more
