Generation Health is boosting its Boston-area presence with a benefits management system for genetic tests in the Bay State, the Xconomy website reported.
The company has offices hosted at the Waltham offices of health data analytics firm D2Hawkeye and genetic testing laboratory Correlagen Diagnostics Inc.
General Health may expand its services and have its own Massachusetts office by year’s end, chairman and CEO Per Lofberg told the website.
The startup hired Douglas Walton, a former vice president at medical information provider WebMD, to be chief technology officer. Walton will be based in the Boston area.
The company’s board also boasts Stanley Lapidus, founder of Massachusetts life sciences companies Hologic (formerly Cytyc), Exact Sciences and Helicos BioSciences.
