GE Healthcare (NYSE:GE) announced today that it is launching the Edison Developer Program for accelerating the adoption and impact of artificial intelligence applications and developer services across health systems.
The EDP is setting out to offer healthcare services to accelerate the ability to build innovations for improving operational and clinical outcomes while offering access GE Healthcare’s wide-ranging customer base. GE Healthcare said the program adds to the existing Edison ecosystem of researchers, providers and institutions.
“We introduced Edison just one year ago at RSNA to help health providers take advantage of data in new and significant ways,” GE Healthcare president & CEO Kieran Murphy said in a news release. “With the introduction of the Edison Developer Program, and a suite of new intelligent applications and smart devices powered by Edison, we are building on that promise as we continue to work with partners to realize our collective goal of advancing the future of health.”
The EDP is also slated to bring market-ready AI applications to the Edison platform and integrate them into existing GE Healthcare offerings. The company said it is working with Arterys, iCad (NSDQ:ICAD), Koios Medical, MaxQ AI and Volpara to deliver AI-based outcomes.
GE Healthcare said the EDP will open up the potential of securing device connectivity, aggregating data for clinical context, improving advanced visualization, workflow and AI orchestration, among other capabilities.
GE Healthcare added new AI-based Edison devices to its platform, including the Edison Open AI Orchestrator for imaging workflows, the LogIQ E10 radiology ultrasound system, the New Revolution family CT scanner and the AIR x workflow tool for MRI brain scanning.

Bringing together leading technology providers, developers and academic institutions under a single, connected ecosystem will help our customers simplify and optimize data aggregation and orchestration of clinical and operational applications in ways that have the potential to create real impact from the bottom line to better patient outcomes.”
To add to the Edison ecosystem, GE Healthcare expanded its partner network to include Partners Healthcare, the Saint-Joseph Hospital Foundation and Intel.
