GE Healthcare (NYSE:GE) is planning to move the headquarters for its life sciences business from Piscataway, N.J., to Massachusetts, but the company is holding the details close to the vest.
"A project is currently underway to create a new U.S. headquarters in Massachusetts for the Life Sciences division of GE Healthcare," spokesman Benjamin Fox said yesterday, according to news reports.
"Some positions will be relocated to Massachusetts, some positions may remain as remote employees, some positions will be made redundant and some positions – including some remote and field-based roles – will be unaffected," Fox said, according to NJBiz.com. "Until we have spoken individually with all employees and made business decisions accordingly, how many total positions in each of these groups cannot be known.
"More specific details will be available once they are finalized. Once completed, the new U.S. life sciences headquarters will create a significant number of new jobs and economic activity in Massachusetts," Fox said.
