GE HealthCare (Nasdaq:GEHC) announced that it expanded its ongoing collaboration with RadNet subsidiary DeepHealth.
The companies hope to further the innovation, commercialization and adoption of AI-powered mammography tools. Chicago-based GE HealthCare said the announcement coincides with the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI) Annual Symposium in Seattle this week.
GE HealthCare and RadNet’s DeepHealth first came together in 2024 through a strategic collaboration to advance the adoption of AI in imaging. They said they sought to develop SmartTechnology solution that harnesses AI to address key challenges across the imaging value chain. This collaboration centers around pairing AI-powered breast cancer screening workflows with GE HealthCare’s Senographe Pristina mammography system.
The companies last fall said they broadened the existing collaboration to include a wider suite of AI tools. GE HealthCare and DeepHealth said they wanted to extend their offerings outside the U.S. as well.
GE HealthCare said DeepHealth’s continued growth in capabilities with its new Breast Suite solution enables it to bring to market an advanced, cloud-based suite. This suite includes modular, interoperable applications that integrate seamlessly into existing breast imaging workflows. Paired with its Pristina Via, the offering enables scalable, high-efficiency breast cancer screening programs.
The existing Breast Suite solution now adds new applications designed for compatibility with GE HealthCare mammography systems. This includes ProFound Pro, which combines Cancer Detection, a clinical AI solution, and Automated Density Assessment. It offers automatic lesion localization and degree of suspicion, plus consistent, automated density classification. The Safeguard Review feature flags complex cases that may benefit from secondary review as well.
