American’s view of the FDA are improving, according to a recent Gallup survey of opinions on federal agencies.
The federal watchdog agency received a net positive rating of 24%, according to the polling organization, putting it ahead of The Department of Homeland Security, Federal Reserve, Environmental Protection Agency and the Internal Revenue Service.
Forty-five percent of respondents said they felt the FDA was doing an excellent job, while just 20% ranked the agency as performing poorly. By contrast, just 27% of respondents rated the IRS as excellent and 42% said the agency performed poorly.
Opinions of the FDA are also on the upswing, with the net positive rating improving by 8% since 2009, giving it the largest jump of all federal agencies.
Americans put the Centers for Disease Control or CDC at the top of the list of federal agencies, followed by the FBI, NASA and the CIA.
