Microline Surgical said it won 510(k) clearance from the FDA for the flexible ligating shears it designed for TransEnterix’s Spider surgical platform.
Beverly, Mass.-based Microline said the shears are based on its MiFusion DC resistive direct thermal fusion technology.
"This latest product development advances our MiFusion energy technology platform, which also includes the MiSeal reposable tissue sealing device. FDA clearance represents the first of several milestones for a truly unique and flexible product," new president & CEO Sharad Joshi said in prepared remarks.
