Santa Barbara, Calif.-based InTouch Health said it won FDA clearance for its RP-VITA, touting it as the first remote presence solution for acute patient care.
The RP-VITA allows doctors to take command of any clinical, patient or care team management process remotely, according a press release.
"RP-VITA brings to market a true next-generation remote presence solution that will enable many new clinical applications and uses," chairman & CEO Dr. Yulun Wang said in prepared remarks. "We are pleased to provide customers the assurance of knowing that our telemedicine solutions have withstood rigorous clinical testing and are fully compliant with FDA regulations."
InTouch Health and iRobot (NSDQ:IRBT) unveiled the breakthrough RP-VITA at the InTouch Health 7th Annual Clinical Innovations Forum last July.
The device integrates InTouch Health’s telemedicine technology with iRobot’s autonomous navigation and mobility technology, developed for the iRobot Ava mobile robotics platform.
