The FDA has cleared Dallen Medical Tensyn Plug for the treatment of hand and foot injuries.
Dallen said the agency cleared the product for use in AC/CC joint stabilization, injuries of the mid-foot and lower foot, wrist and hand repair, and syndesmosis.
The company added the Tensyn Plug is the first approved adjustable orthopedic fixation device.
“We have evolved our Tensyn Band technology one step further, providing an implant with virtually unlimited application across small extremities for fixation with or without plating,” said Dallen CEO David Mills, in a release. “In addition, the company will be making another submission to the FDA shortly for the expanded use of the Tensyn Plug in the knee and hip.”
