Ajax Health announced today that EP Map System GmbH closed a Series A financing round worth $25 million that it plans to use for commercialization of its product line in the U.S.
The Herdecke, Germany-based company’s products include a 3D mapping and navigation system with an integrated signal recording and pacing system, a radiofrequency ablation generator and an irrigation pump. It intends to put the funds toward improving all its technology, then bring it to U.S. markets.
The EP Map system received CE Mark in 2016 and is commercially available in Europe and other areas of the world.
The $25 million funding round was led by Ajax Health. EP Map also announced that several Ajax Health executives will join the EP Map management team, including Doug Koo, who will join as CFO and managing director.
“We started EP Map in 2014 with the goal of creating a modern, easy to use EP system that can be used by hospitals around the world to provide state of the art care to their patients,” EP Map founder & CEO Manfred Piechura said in prepared remarks. “I’m thrilled to partner with Ajax on this next step in the company’s life and to bring the Ajax team’s expertise into EP Map.”
“We have been impressed by the EP Map system and are excited to be working with Manfred and his team in Herdecke to bring the technology to the next level,” added Koo.
