DSM Biomedical subsidiary DSM PTG inked an extension of its supply deal with Zug, Switzerland-based Spinelab Ltd.
The deal calls for the Swiss spinal technology firm to continue to combine its Elaspine spinal implant with Berkeley, Calif.-based DSM PTG’s proprietary Bionate PCU polymer, according to DSM Biomedical.
“We selected Bionate PCU for its long and successful clinical track record. Working with a proven, unmatched implantable material for our spinal applications allows Spinelab to focus on delivering the desired biomechanics to ensure implant performance for our esteemed customers,” Spinelab CEO Thomas Zehnder said in prepared remarks.
The company’s Elaspine system is a pedicle-screw-based posterior motion preservation device designed to treat degenerative disorders of the lumbar spine.
