Colfax (NYSE:CFX) subsidiary DJO announced today that it launched its AltiVate anatomic CS Edge shoulder system.
DJO’s AltiVate shoulder system is designed to provide a more bone-sparing solution that is less invasive than traditional shoulder stem offerings, according to a news release.
The company designed AltiVate anatomic CS Edge based off of a humeral fit analysis that it conducted to optimize the fit of peripherally targeted fins within the humeral metaphysis. It includes a canal-sparing, three-fin humeral stem with serrated fin tips that offer the option to use the implant to cut into bone.
It also includes DJO’s P2 proprietary titanium porous coating designed for aiding the apposition of bone for in-growth performance and an enhanced, press-fit implantation. The system is compatible with the AltiVate anatomic e+ glenoid component as well.
“Our goal is to continue to drive innovation and bring market-leading products to patients; the addition of AltiVate Anatomic CS EDGE delivers the next advancement in our shoulder solutions portfolio,” DJO Surgical VP of sales & marketing Louis Vogt said in the news release. “With the growing active patient population, the CS EDGE offers a unique bone-conserving solution to surgeons to address the needs of their anatomic arthroplasty patients.”
