Cynosure names EVP of R&D

October 19, 2020 By Sean Whooley

CynoSureCynosure announced today that it appointed Sujat Sukthankar as its executive VP of research & product development, effective today.

Westford, Mass.-based Cynosure said in a news release that Sukthankar will report to CEO Todd Tillemans and will work to enhance the company’s R&D team.

“There is no better person to help drive category growth than Sujat,” Tillemans said in the release. “During his tenure at Boston Scientific, Sujat and his team were responsible for multiple award-winning and industry-shaping products. Now at the helm of Cynosure’s R&D team, the possibilities to deliver continued breakthrough innovations are limitless.”

Sukthankar, a former VP of platform engineering at Becton Dickinson and VP of R&D at Boston Scientific, also held roles as head of engineering for BD’s catheter care medication delivery business.

Additionally, Sukthankar served as VP of device R&D at Endo Health Solutions, GM of multiple divisions at Best Medical International and was a founding member and VP of R&D at Rosses Medical Systems.

“I’m thrilled to join the Cynosure team—a team passionate about bringing new technologies to the world of medical aesthetics,” Sukthankar said. “I see great opportunity to drive innovation in this space and bring faster, more efficient products and solutions to market so that health care professionals can more effectively treat a wider range of skin types and conditions.”

Cynosure develops medical aesthetic technologies to allow for minimally invasive procedures for skin revitalization, hair removal, body contouring, women’s health, vascular and benign pigmented lesions and more.
