Cynosure Inc. tapped a former Candela Corp. executive to lead one of its most important projects.
The Westford, Mass.-based cosmetic device maker said Paul Cardarelli will fill its newly created vice president of business development slot. Cardarelli, a 20-year cosmetic device industry veteran, will see to the day-to-day management of Cynosure’s deal with Unilever Ltd. to develop home-use devices.
Before a two-year stint as as European zone director for Ulthera Corp., Cardarelli had a 16-year tenure with Candela’s marketing operation, where he eventually rose to vice president of marketing.
Last week, Syneron Medical Ltd. agreed buy Candela for $65 million.
Cynosure slid into the red during the second quarter, posting a $2.3 million net loss as revenues plunged 47 percent to $20.8 million.
