Medical device giant C.R. Bard (NYSE:BCR) landed a new $46.3 million contract with the U.S. Defense Dept., extending for a 2nd year a deal to provide the agency with medical supplies.
The new contract was granted at the maximum possible value in a deal with up to 7 optional 1-year extensions. The deal extends until Dec. 5, 2014.
The contract guarantees the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency "inventory to ensure material availability and to provide medical/surgical surge, re-supply, and sustainment material," according to a DoD notice. The supplies will go to the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and federal civilian agencies.
