Aurora Spine lands 510(k) nod from FDA for spinal fusion implants
Aurora Spine (TSX:ASG.V) said it won 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its TiNano coated interbody systems for spinal fusion procedures.
MedShape wins 510(k) clearance for femoral fixation device
MedShape said it won 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its ExoShape femoral soft tissue fastener, a shape memory polymer device used in knee reconstruction procedures.
The Atlanta-based medical device company touts the ExoShape implant, for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgeries, as "the only femoral fixation device fabricated completely out of PEEK Altera polymer," according to a press release.

Ellipse Technologies lands FDA clearance for limb-lengthening device
Ellipse Technologies said it secured clearance from the FDA for its Precice 2 limb-lengthening system.
Irvine, Calif.-based Ellipse makes spinal and orthopedic devices. The devices are adjustable without an invasive procedure and mainly come in the form of remote-controlled implants.

Wright Medical closes OrthoPro purchase
Wright Medical (NSDQ:WMGI) said it closed the buyout of medical device maker OrthoPro, just a week after announcing the deal.
Salt Lake City-based OrthoPro makes devices to repair the foot and ankle; the acquisition is part of Memphis, Tenn.-based Wright’s move to focus on the extremities market.
DePuy Synthes licenses LifeNet Health’s cellular allograft
Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) subsidiary DePuy Synthes entered a licensing deal with LifeNet Health for the bio-implant maker’s new cellular allograft.
Benvenue Medical wins 510(k) clearance for spinal device
Benvenue Medical secured 510(k) clearance from the FDA, for its Kiva VCF system to treat vertebral compression fractures.
Santa Clara, Calif.-based Benvenue Medical designs and manufactures minimally invasive spinal repair devices. The Kiva VCF is the company’s marquee product, able to treat vertebral compression fractures due to osteoporosis. The device deploys the Kiva coil and Kiva implant.
Biomet settles M2A Magnum hip implant cases
Biomet said it agreed to settle more than 1,000 lawsuits filed over its M2A Magnum hip implants and will likely exhaust the $50 million it set aside to cover the legal tab.
