The Waltham, Mass.-based company makes audio and video systems for operating rooms. Its C-View product is designed to integrate imaging data, audio and video onto a single, ultra-high-definition monitor. The system is the “only audio-video system with 510K clearance,” according to Carrot Medical’s website.
The website also indicates that Carrot Medical is “a Curlview company.” According to the Food & Drug Administration, CurlView IGT LLC won 510(k) approval (PDF) in Nov. 2008 for a product called “Cardio-View.” The contact person listed on the application is Carrot Medical CEO Ward Sparacio.
The company’s C-Com product is a wireless communication system for the operating suite. The equity sale, which began Aug. 21, raised $635,000 from 14 un-named investors.
