Cantel Medical (NYSE:CMD) announced today that it hired Michael Drexel as its senior VP and chief technology officer.
Little Falls, N.J.-based Cantel’s new hire will report to the company’s CEO, George Fotiades, and will operate out of Plymouth, Minn., according to a news release.
Drexel’s primary responsibilities in his roles include driving R&D, oversight and leadership for projects related to research and the development of new and existing products. Additionally, he’s slated to build partnerships with divisional and regional leaders to develop and execute on a plan to meet the company’s objectives for current and future products, Cantel said.
A veteran of more than 25 years in a number of manufacturing sectors, including medtech, Drexel most recently served as senior VP of global R&D for Fresenius Medical Care. Before that, Drexel worked in various senior-level roles at Pentax Medical.
“We are excited to welcome Michael to Cantel,” Fotiades said in the release. “He has a proven track record of successfully leading technology teams in the drive for continuous improvement in product development through to product launch.”
