Canon Medical today said it received FDA 510(k) clearance for its Aquilion Exceed LB CT system.
Aquilino Exceed is designed to allow clinicians to see more during radiation therapy planning for more accuracy, precision and speed. It supports fast and efficient radiation oncology workflows without compromising patient position, according to the Tustin, Calif.-based company.
The CT system has a large bore opening of 90cm with edge-to-edge extended field-of-view (90cm) reconstruction and wide detector coverage of 4cm. It uses Canon Medical’s intelligent Clear-IQ Engine Deep Learning Reconstruction technology.
“The Aquilion Exceed LB was designed to push the boundaries of traditional simulation,” Erin Angel, managing director of Canon’s CT business unit, said in a news release. “Deep learning reconstruction will give radiation oncology teams the confidence they need for accurate and precise planning across patients.”
