- Caldera Medical taps former exec to lead global sales
Caldera Medical Inc. announced the hiring of industry veteran Perry Needham as its Senior Vice President, Global Sales. Needham is no stranger to Caldera Medical, having served as its founding Vice President of Sales from 2003 to 2005. During this time, Needham successfully launched the company’s first product line, attracted leading physicians, and built an independent sales force in excess of 100 representatives. Needham rejoins the company after a recent engagement with Novasys Medical, a venture-backed company commercializing a non-surgical procedure for the treatment of Stress Urinary Incontinence. At Novasys, Needham served as Vice President of Sales, building a broad sales infrastructure and distribution channel that was instrumental in the company’s national rollout. During Needham’s tenure, Novasys’s Renessa treatment was performed on over 2,500 women and the company successfully raised over $100MM in funding.
- Sensus Healthcare forms medical board
Sensus Healthcare announced the formation of a Medical Advisory Board. Accepting to Chair this Board as Medical Director is Dr. Armand B. Cognetta, distinguished Dermatologist and founder of Dermatology Associates of Tallahassee, Fla. Dr. Cognetta is recognized as a leader and innovator in his field, and will provide clinical guidance and patient advocacy in the ongoing development of the Company’s leading Superficial Radiotherapy product platform, the SRT-100, and also lead the Company’s multi-disciplinary Medical Advisory Board in providing Sensus with clinical, ethical, and scientific counseling on the development of its future products and services. Joining Dr. Cognetta on his Board is a very distinguished and experienced panel of thought leaders in the treatment of skin cancer using Photon X-Ray technology. - Baxano names George Harter, Jr. CFO
Baxano Inc. announced the addition of George Harter, Jr. to its executive team. As Chief Financial Officer, Harter will be responsible for Finance, Administration and Human Resources. Harter served as the Chief Financial Officer for Acclarent Inc. from 2005 to 2011, through its acquisition by Johnson & Johnson. From September 2003 to April 2005, Harter served as Chief Financial Officer for Velocimed, an interventional cardiology company. Prior to Velocimed, Harter held roles at other health care companies including Boston Scientific. Harter received his B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles and his M.B.A. from Case Western Reserve University.
- Health Dialog appoints Bill Pelzar CIO
Health Dialog announced the appointment of Bill Pelzar as Chief Information Officer. Pelzar brings more than 20 years of experience to Health Dialog’s management team, having led IT strategy, architecture development, and operations functions for large organizations in both the commercial and government sectors. Now at Health Dialog, Pelzar will drive the company’s strategic use of information and technology to support core business growth and pursue new market opportunities.
- CardioNet appoints Peter Ferola General Counsel and Senior VP
CardioNet Inc. (NSDQ:BEAT), a leading wireless medical technology company with an initial focus on the diagnosis and monitoring of cardiac arrhythmias, announced the appointment of Peter Ferola as General Counsel and Senior Vice President, Corporate Development. Ferola brings to CardioNet more than nineteen years of progressive leadership experience in business management, legal affairs and corporate governance. Ferola comes to CardioNet from Nipro Diagnostics Inc. (formerly Home Diagnostics Inc., NSDQ:HDIX), where he served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Prior to joining Home Diagnostics, Ferola worked as a corporate and securities attorney with Greenberg Traurig LLP and with Dilworth Paxson, LLP in Washington, D.C. focusing on mergers, acquisitions, public securities offerings and corporate governance matters.
