
Boston Scientific prices $1.85B debt offering

Boston Scientific yesterday priced a debt offering it plans to use to cover its $1.65 billion acquisition of Endo International’s American Medical Systems urology business.
Marlborough, Mass.-based Boston Scientific said it also plans to use the proceeds to pay down other debt. Read more
Wright Medical, Tornier schedule merger votes

Wright Medical and Tornier yesterday said they scheduled a set of meetings so their shareholders can vote on the pending, $3.3 billion “merger of equals” between the 2 orthopedic device makers.
The meetings are slated for June 18, the companies said, at Wright’s Memphis headquarters and in Amsterdam, Holland, where Tornier is based. The Dutch company said it also plans to hold its annual shareholders meeting that day. Read more
Philips shareholders approve lighting biz spinout

Royal Philips said last week that its shareholders approved the spinout of its legacy lighting business as a stand-alone, publicly traded company.
The Dutch conglomerate is looking to shed the 123-year-old lighting business, which is said to be worth some €2.5 billion ($2.6 billion), and is also planning to merge its healthcare and consumer segments. Read more
Sorin, Cyberonics introduce post-merger leaders

Sorin Group and Cyberonics today revealed the roster that will lead the company once their $1.4 million merger is consummated.
The deal, which will bring together 2 global leaders in cardiac surgery and neuromodulation with a combined equity value of $2.7 billion, is expected to close by the end of the 3rd quarter. Read more
