MASSDEVICE ON CALL — Massachusetts medical device titan Boston Scientific (NYSE:BSX) will need to add 50 new employees for each 500 square-feet of new space at its new Marlborough headquarters, in compliance with the 2nd phase of a long-term tax incentive program agreed upon by the city.

The company announced in November 2012 that it would move 13 miles of its previous headquarters in Natick, Mass. Construction of the a facility is expected to be completed by 2014.

BSX spokesman Steve Campanini told MassDevice.com last year that the company will build a new global headquarters in Marlborough, which can accommodate all of the 800 employees from on the Natick campus.

The company in 2006 agreed on a Tax Increment Financing plan that would grant them tax breaks in exchange for bringing new jobs to the city of Marlborough. The 1st phase of the deal required the company to add 100 employees each year for 3 years, MetroWest Daily News reported.
