Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania invested $60,000 in two Lehigh Valley, Pa.-based medical companies.
The Bethlehem, Pa.-based, state-funded organization invested $50,000 in HealthOneMed Inc. and $10,000 in B. Braun Medical Inc.
Allentown, Pa.-based HealthOneMed plans to employ the funding to complete a marketing plan for its first product, Dispense-A-Pill, a patented device that dispenses pharmaceutical tablets on a pre-programmed schedule.
Bethlehem, Pa.-based B. Braun Medical said it will use its investment to figure out how manufacturing parameters affect the end uses of its medical products. The company said the resulting information should enable it to develop a maintenance and training process at its Allentown facility to improve product quality and reduce waste.
In all, Ben Franklin Technology Partners invested $480,300 in eight technology companies, according to the economic development organization.
