bb7 expands into new territory

bb7, a comprehensive product development firm headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, announces its expansion to Boston, Massachusetts. This new presence is part of a committed growth strategy aimed at better supporting the East Coast Medical and Scientific Equipment markets. bb7’s operations in this region include two new business development professionals with offices in Boston.

bb7 will better serve its current and future clients on the East Coast with more in-person meetings, which streamline and personalize the product development process. “Allowing our clients to interact face-to-face with our people and our deliverables will help drive project success. Client feedback and support are critical to the success of our joint projects,” said Matt Blue, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for bb7.

Roger Mazzella and Ken Micciche will represent bb7 in business development, focusing on the Medical, Dental and Scientific Instrumentation industries.

Roger Mazzella joined bb7 after an extensive career in sales, marketing and engineering. He has worked for companies including Hitachi, Intertek and Clinivation. With a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering, Roger is able to partner with clients on multiple levels.

Ken Micciche is a business development and marketing veteran with expertise in new product marketing. His experience at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Aserdiv, Inc. and Advanced Instruments has equipped him with a deep understanding of the Scientific Instrumentation category.

Mr. Mazzella and Mr. Micciche have already exhibited at and attended global conferences in the area, including The BIOMEDevice Convention, The Front End of Innovation Conference and The MD&M East Conference.

bb7 selected Massachusetts for strategic expansion due to its thriving medical device and scientific research sectors. The medical technology cluster in Massachusetts is second in the US (behind California), with over 450 medical device companies calling the state home. bb7 is ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certified and has a proven track record in the medical and scientific industries. Past product development projects have included a portable vasodilator featuring Nobel Prize-winning technology, the first set of wireless dental loupes and a market-leading desktop industrial SMB chromatograph.

In Emergo’s Global Medical Device Industry Outlook for 2015, 43% of senior level executives cited new product development as the biggest challenge they face. “Our presence in one of the leading medical device cities will enable us to support more companies’ product development needs. We will leverage our diverse capabilities in research, design, engineering, testing, material sciences and regulatory documentation that is typically not available from other companies,” said Ben Paprocki, Vice President of Operations at bb7.
