Baxter (NYSE:BAX) today announced that it has launched its Sharesource 2.0 telehealth clinical portal.
Sharesource is a telehealth platform for home dialysis the helps healthcare providers get better insight into a patient’s home peritoneal dialysis (PD) treatments. The system has helped manage more than 7 million PD treatments in more than 40 countries, according to the company.
“While the global patient population requiring dialysis is growing, the number of clinicians and their resources are not increasing,” Laura Angelini, general manager of Baxter’s renal care business, said in a press release. “For this reason, we are committed to transforming renal care through meaningful innovations like Sharesource that support better care options for both clinicians and patients.”
Sharesource 2.0 offers a more comprehensive patient treatment summary and trending total ultrafiltration data to help clinicians make informed decisions about treatment effectiveness. It also offers improved workflow to review patient dashboards faster.
Baxter’s Sharesource 2.0 update is available on Baxter’s Asia and HomeChoice Claria APD systems in Europe, Canada, Latin America and the U.S.
