Avanos Medical (NYSE:AVNS) announced today that it appointed Indrani Franchini as a new independent member of its board of directors.
Alpharetta, Georgia-based Avanos Medical develops a range of technologies, including solutions for pain management, chronic care, digestive care and more. Offerings include feeding tubes, medication dosing solutions, infusion technology and radiofrequency ablation technology, among other things.
“Avanos is committed to addressing some of today’s most important healthcare needs and I am thrilled to join its board as a new independent director,” Franchini said in a news release.
Most recently, Franchini served as EVP and chief legal officer at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals. Before that, she held the post of EVP and chief compliance officer at Alexion Pharmaceuticals for more than four years.
Previous roles also include a stint in legal positions at Hess Corporation, a global oil and gas exploration and production firm. Additionally, Franchini spent nearly a decade in various posts at Pfizer, including supporting the pharmaceutical giant’s global pharmaceutical business.
