Bryan Roberts, a managing general partner at Cambridge’s Venrock Associates, will resign as a member of Athenahealth Inc.’s board of directors, according to a filing with the federal Securities and Exchange Commission.
Roberts, a board member of the Watertown online HIT services provider since 1999, was also a member of the board’s audit committee. Athenahealth said Roberts made his decision to resign “out of a desire to pursue other interests and not as the result of any disagreement with the company,” according to the March 13 filing.
He joined Venrock in 1997 after earning a chemistry and chemical biology PhD from Harvard University. Before that Roberts was a senior executive at brokerage firm Kidder, Peabody & Co.
