The U.S. Patent & Trademark Office awarded two new patents to Applied Spine Technologies, increasing the company’s Stabilimax intellectual property portfolio.
The patents, "Spring junction and assembly methods for spinal device" and "Dynamic spine stabilizer," cover technology that permits relative movement between the vertebral bodies — or so-called interpedicular travel.
The Rocky Hill, Conn.-based spinal stabilization device maker’s new patents are its sixth and seventh patents in recent months. The company won a patent in April for another spring-based spinal stabilization device.
