Allezoe Medical Holdings (OTC:ALZM) said its Organ Transport Systems subsidiary is preparing for clinical trials of the LifeCradle for preserving donated hearts before transplant.
The company, based in the Philippines, bought OTS in January. The move puts it on a collision course with TransMedics Inc., an Andover, Mass.-based which also has been developing an organ transport system.
Allezoe said it plans to begin with applications of its technology to donor heart preservation.
TransMedics already has CE Mark approval for sales within the European Union and lined up several large medical facilities in January to participate in U.S trials.
