Volcano Corp. (NSDQ:VOLC) promoted David Sheehan to the role of chief operating officer, regulatory filings show.
Sheehan is a med-tech veteran, with stints at Haemonetics (NYSE:HAE), Baxter International (NYSE:BAX), Digirad (NSDQ:DRAD) and at several startups under his belt.
He joined Volcano in June 2008 as executive vice president for the company’s Japanese arm and became president of the IVUS & systems business in March 2010, according to SEC filings.
Sheehan joined the executive suite at an auspicious time for the company. Volcano blew away analysts’ expectations with its Q4 and full-year 2011 earnings report, but guided low for 2012.
