ViewRay Inc. has $2.4 million to go to reach its goal for a $17.4 million funding round.
Seven investors are in on the offering, and $15 million had been sold at the time the company disclosed the funding round May 8, according to a regulatory filing.
The Oakwood Village, Ohio-based medical device company, which makes MRI equipment, won U.S. clearance for its MRI-guided radiation therapy, which delivers radiotherapy for cancer treatment during magnetic resonance imaging.
In 2012, ViewRay landed a $45 million funding round to support its MRI therapy. The company previously raised $20 million in a Series C round. Investors included the state of Ohio, the Dept. of Development and Third Frontier Commission.
