Healthcare private capital firm NaviMed Partners raised $40.7 million in a recent fundraising round, according to regulatory filings.
The Washington D.C.-based company noted 5 unnamed participants in the round, raised through a pooled investment of fund interests.
NaviMed is focused solely on interests in the healthcare industry, including healthcare IT, services and specialty medical products. Its portfolio includes connections with Barrx Medical, which was acquired in 2011 by Covidien (NYSE:COV), and minimally invasive spinal surgery devices maker Endius.
The company just last month announced the formation of a Health Policy Council with members including former U.S. National Coordinator for Health Information Technology Dr. Farzad Mostashari and former Congresswoman Nancy Johnson.
