Thoratec Corp. promotes Taylor Harris to CFO
Global medical device company Thoratec (NSDQ:THOR) promoted Taylor Harris to VP & and CFO of the company, effective immediately. Harris joined the company as senior director of investor relations & business development in 2010, prior to which he was VP in the equity research department covering the medical device industry at JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Interim CFO Roxanne Oulman, who took the seat on June 10, 2011, remains the company’s VP of finance following the transition.

Nanosphere adds 1 to the board
Illinois-based medical device maker Nanosphere named Roy Davis to the board.
Davis worked at Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) up until last year, where he started in various management positions in 1984, leaving as VP of corporate development and president of Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation. Davis was also a board member of Rosetta Genomics.

New Jersey- based Svelte Medical Systems named Jack Darby as president & CEO.
Darby previously worked at Bayer (PINK:BAYRY) Interventional and AGA Medical, where he helped launch the company’s IPO and manage an acquisition by St. Jude Medical (NYSE:STJ).
