Siemens Medical Systems (NYSE:SI) won a $1.79 billion extension on its contract to provide radiology systems to the U.S. Defense Dept.
The Pentagon said it pulled the trigger on its 5th option on the 1-year deal, which has another 2 option years ahead.
The contract is now good through March 30, 2015, according to a press release.
The Defense Dept. also said it awarded a $90.3 million contract extension to Hitachi (NYSE:HIT) Medical Systems America for its radiology systems. The extension, also the 5th of an available 7, extends the contract through March 29, 2015, according to the release.
Earlier this week, the Pentagon re-upped $150 million worth of deals with GE (NYSE:GE) and Philips (NYSE:PHG).
