Sir John Buchanan, the chairman of Smith & Nephew (FTSE:SN, NYSE:SNN), is reportedly getting ready to step down from the medical device giant’s board of the directors at the end of the month.
The retirement of Buchanan, who’s spent 8 years at the head of the table for the British orthopedics and wound care conglomerate, is slated to be announced alongside Smith & Nephew’s 3rd-quarter earnings report Oct. 31, according to Sky News.
Smith & Nephew is close to selecting a replacement, anonymous sources told Sky.
Ex-EndoSense CEO Keltjens lands at Sapiens
Sapiens Steering Brain Stimulation said it tapped former EndoSense president & CEO Jan Keltjens for the corner office. Keltjens has been in the medical device industry for more than 30 years, leading companies including CryoCath Technologies, AngioDynamics and EndoSense. He will be replacing Sapiens co-founder Sjaak Deckers. Sapiens is a Philips Healthcare (NYSE:PHG) spinout.
