The med-tech industry dropped nearly $28 million lobbying politicians in Washington on health issues during the second quarter, according to the Lobbying Disclosure Act Database.
General Electric Co. (NYSE:GE) and its subsidiaries, including GE Healthcare, led the charge with $6.8 million during the three months ended June 30, down from a first-quarter spend of $8.6 million.
The next biggest spender was the American Medical Assn., clocking in with more than $4.3 million.

Next on the list are the Biotechnology Industry Organization ($2.0 million); Novartis (NYSE:NVS) ($1.9 million); and Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) ($1.3 million).
